Following its Venetian debut in 2025, Lilytopia returns to the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay from 21 August to 27 September 2026, this time transporting visitors to the world of ancient Egypt. The exhibition promises the largest ever showcase of lilies at the Gardens, set against a majestic recreation of the Dendera Temple and hieroglyphic art drawn from one of history's most fascinating civilisations.
An Ancient Egypt Theme
Visitors will journey through a floral interpretation of ancient Egypt, where lilies, water lilies and lilies of the Nile bloom alongside a scaled recreation of the Dendera Temple. The Dendera Temple complex, dedicated to the goddess Hathor, is one of the best-preserved temple sites in Egypt, famous for its astronomical ceiling and intricate hieroglyphic reliefs. At Lilytopia 2026, hieroglyphic art and Egyptian-inspired sculptures will frame thousands of blooming lilies, evoking the lush banks of the Nile and the botanical motifs that filled Egyptian art and religion.
The lotus and water lily held deep symbolic meaning in ancient Egypt, representing creation, rebirth and the sun. The display will explore these themes through both the floral arrangements and the architectural recreations that surround them.
From Venice to Egypt
Lilytopia first debuted at Gardens by the Bay in 2025 with a Venice-themed display featuring more than 10,000 fragrant lilies and over 50 varieties, including more than 20 cultivated in-house by Gardens by the Bay's horticulturists. The 2025 edition recreated St Mark's Campanile, a gondola floating on a river of flowers and the narrow streets of the floating city. The 2026 edition shifts the focus to Egypt, continuing the exhibition's pattern of pairing lilies with a distinctive cultural destination.
A Multi-Sensory Experience
The Flower Dome's cool, climate-controlled environment makes Lilytopia a comfortable visit year-round, with the sweet fragrance of lilies filling the air. The 2025 Venice edition delighted visitors with its explosion of colour, pink Lilium 'Mikaela' flecked with magenta, the vibrant deep orange Lilium 'Caddy', and many other varieties of different hues and shapes. The 2026 Egypt edition is expected to bring a similarly rich palette of blooms, with the addition of aquatic water lilies and Nile lily species that anchor the ancient Egyptian theme.
