Singapore Garden Festival 2026: Carnival of Blooms Takes Over Gardens by the Bay

The 10th edition of the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) is officially here, transforming Gardens by the Bay into a 6.8-hectare floral wonderland from now through July 12. Under the theme "Carnival of Blooms," this year's festival is the largest non-competitive garden show in the event's history, featuring an 8-metre-high floral roller coaster, immersive mirror mazes, orchid tunnels, and a nature-inspired carousel that would make any theme park jealous.

The Floral Roller Coaster: A 50-Metre Welcome

The Floral Roller Coaster at Gardens by the Bay

The show-stopping centrepiece at the entrance of The Meadow is an 8-metre-high, 50-metre-long Floral Roller Coaster, the largest non-competitive installation in SGF history. While you cannot ride it, the structure uses sweeping curves and track-like forms filled with tropical foliage and flowering plants chosen for their bold colours and textures. Crotons, Coleus, Bromeliads, Golden Penda, and Honey Myrtle create a vibrant palette that evokes the thrill of an amusement park ride through the language of plants.

Jason Wright, creative director of SGF, said: "Carnival of Blooms reflects our aim to celebrate artistry and nature side by side, while putting a stronger spotlight on how nature can be experienced through design, play and wellness."

Floral Vortex: Walk Through an Orchid Tunnel

Visitors arriving via Bayfront MRT station enter through the Meadow Bridge, where they are greeted by the Floral Vortex, a swirling tunnel dripping with yellow Oncidiums, Dendrobiums, and other vandaceous orchids arranged in a kaleidoscopic pattern. Every angle reveals a new layer of colour, texture, and form. Periodic mist rolls through the space, giving the tunnel a dreamy, almost ethereal glow.

Floral Infinity Mirror & Mirror Maze

Between The Meadow and Supertree Grove lies the Floral Infinity Mirror, a 14-metre immersive walkway covered in multi-hued tropical foliage with mirror-clad walls that turn the space into a living kaleidoscope. Every step shifts the reflection and colour, creating a completely unique experience with each visit.

Floral Mirror Maze with chandeliers

Nearby, the Floral Mirror Maze features eight striking floral chandeliers suspended from an open canopy, reflected endlessly by mirrored walls to create the illusion of blooms stretching infinitely in every direction.

Nature's Carousel Play Garden

Nature's Carousel Play Garden

What is a carnival without a carousel? The Nature's Carousel Play Garden at The Meadow reimagines the carnival classic using flora. Trees and tree trunks serve as the central column and vertical posts, while log play elements carved into Singapore's native fauna, hornbills, pangolins, sea turtles, and owls, populate the space. It's a hands-on, interactive garden designed for visitors of all ages.

Also near the play garden are three giant carnival swings where two people take turns tugging on a rope to keep the swing moving, a team-effort activity that perfectly captures the festival's old-school fairground mood.

Known By Flowers: Interactive Light Installation

After sunset, the festival transforms with Known By Flowers, an interactive light installation by acclaimed Chinese landscape designer Hu Shiyang. Life-size flower sculptures respond to sound, lighting up in different hues and intensity depending on the volume emitted near them. By day, it blends into the landscape as a dreamy garden; by night, it becomes a glowing, responsive spectacle.

Show Gardens: All-Stars Edition

To mark the 10th edition, eight previous "Best of Show" winners from SGF's history have returned for the Show Gardens: All-Stars Edition, competing for the newly created Pinnacle Award. Working with local implementing partners, these world-class designers have built full landscape installations at The Meadow.

Wellness Living In Nature by John Tan

Singaporean competitor John Tan of Esmond Landscape & Horticultural, who won gold and Best of Show in 2010 with his garden "The Modern Treehouse", returns with a restorative forest oasis. "Visitors will be able to sit beneath a canopy of bamboo and walk through a tunnel of lush greenery, accompanied by the sounds of cascading water," he said. The garden will also host yoga sessions during the festival.

Show garden by Nyee Phoe Flower Garden

Representing Singapore too is the team comprising Eliam Eng, 72, and Andy Eng, 50, of Nyee Phoe Flower Garden. "Our design draws the eye from ground to sky. At the lower level, there is tropical planting, texture and layering. Above that, the structure, canopy and lighting invite visitors to look upwards, giving the feeling of being beneath the stars," said Eliam Eng.

More Gardens, Flowers & Experiences

Beyond the headline installations, SGF 2026 offers an extensive programme across the festival grounds:
