Run For Hope 2026 takes over Marina Barrage on 29 November

Run For Hope comes back to 滨海堤坝 Marina Barrage on Sunday 29 November 2026, its 33rd year. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and the National Cancer Centre Singapore organise it. Money goes to the NCC Research Fund. The official site puts the race village on at 6.15am, 10km flag-off at 7.15am, 5km at 8.30am, and the whole programme packed down by 10.45am. This is the kite roof locals use on a normal Saturday. That Sunday morning it is a start pen.

The roof they are running on

Marina Barrage sits at 8 Marina Gardens Drive, on the Bay East side of the reservoir, past Gardens by the Bay if you come along Marina Gardens Drive. The Green Roof and the public areas are open 24 hours on a normal day. PUB bans alcohol and fireworks. No night kites, no ball games on the roof. Barrage Cove, the kite shop, is closed Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week it keeps short hours. None of that is a race briefing. It is why this building fills with picnic mats by 5pm on weekends.

The organiser's own programme is the document I am using. Race village, information booth and baggage from 6.15am. 10km start pen 6.45am, warm-up 7am, flag-off 7.15am. 5km start pen 8am, warm-up 8.10am, flag-off 8.30am. Cool-down 9.20am, Zumba 9.45am, a stage block 10.15am, end 10.45am. They printed that the timetable can change. Route maps were still missing on listing sites in October. If you care about kilometres on tarmac versus the roof, wait for the organiser PDF. I am not inventing a course.

The Water Playground on the same site runs 9am to 9pm on Sunday. Heavy rain or lightning shuts it without a polite email. Call 6514 5959 before you drag kids there after the medals. Sustainable Singapore Gallery is 9am to 6pm, closed Tuesday, and closed 12pm to 1pm the other days. 29 November is a Sunday, so the gallery should be open once the stage empties, if you still have the legs.

What it costs, and the 31 October line on the form

The registration cards on runforhopesg.com list two bands. Loyal runners, people who ran a previous edition, and group entries pay S$35 for 5km and S$50 for 10km. Standard is S$40 and S$55. The standard cards print a window, 27 July to 31 October. Today is 16 October, so that window is still open. The page does not print a late fee after 31 October. I would not assume you can stroll in on 1 November at the same number. Register on the official site. Groups of the size they accept email enquiry@runforhopesg.com. Hotline 9711 1889, Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, not the eve of a public holiday and not the holiday itself.

Four Seasons' July note said last year's run raised more than USD 190,000 for the NCC Research Fund, and that more than 20,000 people have come through the years. The 2026 leaderboard on the same morning I checked sat at about S$91,900 toward a S$300,000 target, split between individual and team pots. Those totals move. The shirt this year is by Cindy Neo, a cancer patient and artist. That is the organiser's line, not mine.

This is not a Singapore Marathon qualifier and not a tourist 5km around Helix Bridge at dusk. Flag-off is before the heat really sits, which is the only sane time to run this concrete. Bring water anyway. The official hydration partner on the sponsor stack is Yeo's. I still would not trust a single cup at 8am in November.

How to get there, and what to skip that morning

Gardens by the Bay MRT, TE22, is the station that actually dumps you near the barrage. Bayfront, CE1 and DT16, is a longer walk through the gardens or a bus. SBS 400 runs from Tanjong Pagar, Marina Bay and Downtown toward Marina Gardens Drive. PUB still prints Satay by the Bay as a left-hand landmark on that drive. Satay by the Bay closed 1 October 2026. Do not plan breakfast there. Jurassic Nest at the gardens is the indoor option if you want food after 11am, which is after this race is supposed to end.

Cyclists already cannot use the Bay South waterfront promenade, from 4 May 2026, while the Bay South to Bay East bridge goes up. PUB and the Gardens both send bikes around the Bay South perimeter. If the 10km uses Marina Gardens Drive or the roof ramps, expect marshals, not a quiet kite field. The Green Roof has no picnic tables on a normal day. On the 29th, treat 6am to 11am as event space. Come back in the afternoon if you wanted the mat and the view of Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum and the Flyer from the solar arrays.

i Light is a June festival. Marina Bay Singapore Countdown for 31 December 2026 into 2027 has not published a 2027 programme I would trust yet. This run is the dated civic morning actually on the calendar for late November.
